Biography

Tania Tasopoulou is an Organizational Development Executive with an international career of over 20 years, across continents, industries, and sectors. Her experience in holding executive positions in international settings makes her adept at navigating gender and cultural diversity, leading multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, and advocating for change in global organizations.

With a strong passion to help people learn and grow, Tania’s career history is characterized by the ability to develop solutions and transform ideas into results even in unfamiliar and sometimes volatile situations.

Tania's comprehensive academic background, including an Executive MBA from Athens University of Economics & Business and an MSc in Psychological Assessment in Organizations from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London, has underpinned her success. Her dual Bachelor degrees in Psychology from Panteion University in Athens and The American College of Greece further emphasize her profound understanding of organizational behavior and human dynamics.

Abstract

The global workplace offers exciting opportunities for women, but it also presents additional challenges and biases. This speech will explore the specific obstacles faced by women navigating a new country, culture, company, and work environment.

The speech will present tools for building confidence and self-belief, as well as strategies for advocating oneself in a new culture, including effective communication and negotiation techniques, by using real life examples. Furthermore, the speech will examine how to build a strong support network, and how to develop cultural resilience and competency.

Finally, the speech will explore how women working internationally can become advocates for change within their organizations. This will include approaches for promoting gender equality and inclusivity in the global workplace, and advocating for policies that support working mothers in international assignments.
